Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia (IKRAM) mengutuk sekeras-kerasnya hukuman gantung oleh kerajaan Bangladesh ke atas pemimpin Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, Mir Quasem Ali, 63.
Beliau telah dijatuhkan hukuman mati pada 2 November 2014 atas tuduhan jenayah terhadap kemanusiaan yang kononnya dilakukan semasa Perang Kemerdekaan Bangladesh pada tahun 1971.
Kesemua tuduhan telah dinafikan oleh keluarga beliau malah mereka telah mengaitkan tuduhan tersebut dengan politik. Beliau telah digantung pada Sabtu petang, 3 September 2016 di sebuah penjara yang dikawal rapi di luar Dhaka.
Mir Quasem Ali adalah merupakan seorang hartawan Bangladesh. Beliau merupakan bekas pengarah Islami Bank Bangladesh dan Pengerusi Diganta Media Corporation, yang memiliki Diganta TV. Beliau juga pengasas Yayasan Ibn Sina dan salah seorang pengasas NGO Rabita al-Alam al Islami.
Mir Quasem Ali juga telah menubuhkan 15 buah hospital, 10 buah sekolah dan membantu membina beberapa pusat anak-anak yatim, rumah perlindungan wanita, pusat perubatan percuma serta masjid.
IKRAM juga turut mendoakan agar agar Allah SWT memberikan keselamatan kepada semua pendakwah di mana-mana sahaja di seluruh dunia.

IKRAM DENOUNCES THE DEATH SENTENCE OF A LEADER OF JAMAAT-E-ISLAMI
IKRAM condemns the death sentence carried out by the government of Bangladesh on the leader of the Bangladeshi Jamaat-e-Islami, Mir Quasem Ali, 63.
He was sentenced to death on 2nd November 2014 for alleged crimes against humanity committed during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
All charges were denied by his family, stating they were politically motivated. He was hanged at a high-security prison outside Dhaka on Saturday evening, 3rd September 2016.
Mir Quasem Ali, was a Bangladeshi tycoon, the former director of Islami Bank Bangladesh and chairman of the Diganta Media Corporation, which owns Diganta TV. He founded the Ibn Sina Trust and was a key figure in the establishment of NGO Rabita al-Alam al Islami.
Mir Quasem Ali was also the founder of more than 15 hospitals, 10 schools and helped build many orphanages, women shelter and rehabilitation centres, free medical centers and mosques.
IKRAM also prays for the safety of all callers of truth throughout the entire world in their endeavours to uphold justice wherever they are.
