Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia (IKRAM) wishes to express our gratitude for the viewpoints presented wisely by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Mustafa Ri’ayatuddin Billah Shah and HRH Malay Rulers through the Press Release of the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal on 16 June 2021.
IKRAM would like to express our deepest appreciation for the concern of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and HRH the Malay Rulers who have listened to the voices of the people who are afflicted with numerous difficulties as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, worrying economic and social situations and political instability.
IKRAM is also thankful for the decree issued by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong that Parliament should convene immediately as a check and balance mechanism to ensure a governance which is transparent, of integrity, and accountable to the people.
The royal decree is in line with the proposal submitted jointly by IKRAM and more than forty (40) Non-Governmental Organization and Civil Society Organization partners on 15 June 2021.
IKRAM also greatly appreciates the opinion of the Rulers on the importance of a government which is stable and has the confidence and support of the majority of the people.
Following the expression of views by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and HRH the Malay Rulers, IKRAM urges the government to address the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the economic crisis and social crisis in an inclusive manner by involving all stakeholders and setting aside political differences.
IKRAM once again reaffirmed its readiness to work together with various parties to solve the problems that are plaguing our beloved nation.
