Himpunan Gerakan Islam Malaysia (HIKAM) strongly condemns the military attack launched against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has escalated geopolitical tensions in Middle East and threatens regional stability.
This act not only risks triggering a large-scale conflict, but also opens the door to the suffering of innocent civilians.
Allah SWT says:
“And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [O Muhammad], and rely upon Allah.” (Surah al-Anfal: 61)
This verse affirms that the path of peace must always be prioritised in facing conflict. Any military action that undermines negotiations and diplomatic efforts contradicts the spirit of peace espoused by Islam.
HIKAM calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire to prevent further bloodshed. History has proven that war has never been a definitive solution; rather, diplomacy grounded in principles of justice is the best path to easing tensions.
Allah SWT also says:
“O you who have believed, stand firm for Allah and bear true testimony. Do not let the hatred of a people lead you to injustice. Be just! That is closer to righteousness.” (Surah al-Ma’idah: 8)
Accordingly, the international community must act fairly, consistently, and without double standards in addressing this crisis. Universal justice cannot be selective and inclined towards political interests or particular power blocs.
HIKAM also urges all involved parties to return to the negotiating table and prioritise peaceful resolution. The safety of civilians, including Malaysians residing in the affected region, must be of utmost priority.
We also call upon Muslims to continue to supplicate, strengthen solidarity, and convey Islam’s message as a religion of mercy for all mankind. At a time when the world is tested by tension and conflict, Muslims must emerge as a voice of peace, justice, and wisdom.
HIKAM is committed to working with various parties in striving for worldwide peace founded upon the principles of justice and humanity.
“Peace is born not from bullets, but from justice.”
